Real Wedding – Katherine and Guillaume, Manuel Antonio

Our ‘fierce’ bride, Katherine, had her amazing wedding this past November at Casa Playa Vista in Manuel Antonio. Over two years in the planning, it was a wedding where every detail was carefully crafted. A trained graphic designer, Katherine made her own postcard Save the Dates (how awesome are these?!).

The week leading up to the wedding saw the worst rain in 60 years. Roads collapsed, mudslides destroyed villages and bridges were flooded. Luckily, life had returned to normal by the time Katherine, Guillaume and their 20 guests landed in Costa Rica. Being November, we had planned for rain so the gorgeous terrace of the house, with it’s views of the ocean and rainforest, hosted the ceremony. We created a unique setting, using limes and ginger petals for the aisleway and two vases with branches sporting yellow button mums marked the altar area.

And here is how it looked during the ceremony…

So bright and cheery, even if the weather was a bit grey and drizzly.

And check out the colors on the bridesmaids! Like a tropical jungle at sunset come to life 🙂

Katherine was a very crafty, DIY bride and her wedding programs were true works of art!

For the reception, we created a tablescape with chocolate brown runners and various vases filled with sand, stones, branches and colorful flowers, such as red roses, yellow button mums, green Bells of Ireland and real oranges.

Instead of using seating cards, we wrote each guests’ name in gold ink on an avocado.

And of course, lots of candles!

The wedding cake was the piece de resistance! Inspired by their bedding,

our talented cake artist created this, sitting atop an antique milk glass cake stand. How adorable!! Inspiration can truly come from anywhere…

How much fun was this party? I think this photo pretty much sums it up. Congrats again, Katherine and Guillaume – it was a BLAST!!!!
